Help & Support

Most answers are on this page. If yours is not, write to support@decishape.com and a human will read it. Decishape is made by one person, so replies come from the person who wrote the app.

01 · Contact

Reach a human

Support, bugs, refunds, feature requests, or anything this page does not answer:

Email: support@decishape.com
Privacy requests: privacy@decishape.com

We aim to reply within one business day. If your subscription is not working and you need it sorted quickly, say so in the subject line and include the email address you signed in with — that is usually enough to find the account.

Please do not send screenshots of your entries unless they are relevant to the problem. We would rather not read them.

02 · Getting started

Your first evening

The check-in is five short questions and takes about two minutes. There is no writing required — every answer is a tap.

  • Which areas of your life the day went into — up to three
  • Your energy, on a 1–5 scale
  • How the day felt — chosen from a list
  • Whether it moved you forward, held neutral, or set you back
  • An optional short note, if you want one

From that, Decishape computes your Direction Score — a single number between 12 and 92, calculated the same way every day. It is not a rating of you. It is a reading of the days you have had.

One reading gives you a score. The second gives you something no single day can: a direction.

03 · Billing

Subscription & billing

Decishape is a paid app. There is no free tier, and no advertising.

Plan Price
Annual $99.99 per year, after a 7-day free trial
Monthly $19.99 per month, first month $4.99
Lifetime $199.99 once, no subscription

All three unlock exactly the same app. There is no higher tier and nothing is held back from the cheaper plan.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of that period. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when a subscription is purchased.

Decishape never sees your card. Every purchase, renewal, and refund is handled by Apple through In-App Purchase. We receive only a receipt confirming that you are entitled to the app.

Prices shown are for the United States storefront. Your own currency and price are shown in the app before you buy, and Apple is the source of truth for both.

04 · Cancelling

Cancel or change your plan

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us — so cancelling happens in your Apple Account settings, and takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for.

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone
  2. Tap your name at the top
  3. Tap Subscriptions
  4. Tap Decishape
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription, or choose a different plan

There is also a shortcut inside the app: Settings → Manage Subscription opens the same Apple screen.

Cancelling during the free trial. To avoid being charged, cancel at least 24 hours before the seventh day ends. You keep access until the trial finishes.

Deleting your Decishape account does not cancel your subscription. They are separate systems — one is ours, one is Apple's. Cancel first, then delete, if you want both gone.

Refunds

Refunds are issued by Apple, not by us, and we have no ability to process one on your behalf. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com using the Apple Account you purchased with.

If something in the app failed and that is why you want a refund, write to us anyway — we cannot issue the money back, but we can tell Apple what went wrong, and we would like to fix it.

05 · Restoring

Restore purchases

New phone, reinstalled app, or signed out and back in? Your purchase follows your Apple Account, not the app.

  1. Open Decishape and sign in
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Tap Restore Purchases

Make sure you are signed into the same Apple Account you bought with — this is separate from your Decishape account. If you bought on a family member's Apple Account, restore will not find it.

A subscription can be linked to only one Decishape account. If you see "This subscription is already linked to another Decishape account", sign in with that account instead, or write to us and we will sort it out.

07 · Unlocking

What unlocks, and when

Nothing in Decishape is hidden behind a purchase. It is held back until there are enough of your own days to say something true — because a projection drawn from two readings would be a guess wearing a chart.

Readings What opens
1 Your Direction Score
2 A direction — which way the line is going
7 The projection, and Rehearse
10 The patterns underneath your days
30 The full picture across every area of your life

These are counted in readings, not calendar days — so a day you fill in from memory counts toward them.

08 · Gaps

Missed days & Hold

You missed a day

Tap the empty day on your week and fill it from memory in two taps. It sits on your chart marked as a sketch — a hollow dot rather than a solid one — because a day recalled is not the same as a day recorded, and the chart should not pretend otherwise.

You are going away

Declare a Hold for up to a fortnight. Reminders stop, your streak is protected, and the gap is not read as drift. Being away is not the same as slipping, and the instrument should not confuse the two.

Hold is in Settings → Hold. You can end it early at any time.

09 · Notifications

Reminders & readings

Decishape sends at most one notification a day, and only on days it has something to say.

  • The evening check-in — a reminder at the hour you choose, only on days you have not logged. It is scheduled on your phone, not by our server.
  • The morning reading — an observation drawn from your own data, and only when there is one worth sending.
  • Course correction — after two quiet days, once per gap. Not every day you miss.
  • The quarterly and yearly review — on the 90-day and 365-day marks from your first entry.

Change the check-in hour in Settings → Reminder. Turn everything off in iOS Settings → Decishape → Notifications.

10 · Apple Health

Sleep and steps

If you connect Apple Health, Decishape reads two things — sleep analysis and step count — and shows them beside your own entries as context. It is optional, and the app is fully functional without it.

What happens to Health data

  • It is read on your iPhone only. It is never sent to our servers and we never store it.
  • Decishape only reads. It never writes anything into Apple Health.
  • It is never used to calculate your Direction Score. It is context shown beside your record, not part of it.
  • It is never used for advertising, and never shared with anyone.
  • Withdraw access any time in Health → Sharing → Apps → Decishape. There is nothing on our side to delete, because nothing was sent.

11 · Widgets

Widgets & Apple Watch

Your score is available on the Home Screen, the Lock Screen, in Control Centre, and on your Apple Watch. The check-in is two taps from anywhere.

A widget is showing an old score

Widgets refresh on a schedule iOS controls, not one we set — so a widget can lag by up to an hour. Opening the app updates it immediately. If it stays stale for longer than that, remove the widget and add it again.

The watch app is empty

The watch reads a snapshot written by the iPhone app. Open Decishape on your iPhone once while the watch is nearby, and it will fill.

12 · Your data

Export or delete everything

Export

Everything you have written can be exported as a spreadsheet, at any time, from Settings → Export. Your entries are yours, including after you stop paying.

Delete

Settings → Delete Account permanently erases your profile and every entry, decision record, and note attached to it. It is a deletion, not a deactivation — signing up again with the same email will not bring it back.

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription billed by Apple. Cancel that first — see Cancel or change your plan — or you will keep being charged for an account that no longer exists.

Full detail on what we collect and why is in the Privacy Policy.

13 · Accounts

Signing in

You can sign in with Apple or with Google. They create two separate accounts — signing in with Google will not open an account you made with Apple, and vice versa. If your entries look like they have vanished, this is almost always why. Sign out and back in with the other method.

If you used Sign in with Apple and chose to hide your email, we only ever see Apple's private relay address. That is fine; it still works for support. Just tell us which method you used.

14 · Fixes

Something isn't working
What you see What to do
"Payment received — confirming your subscription" The purchase went through and we are waiting on Apple. Give it a minute, then tap Restore Purchases in Settings. Write to us if it persists.
"This subscription is already linked to another Decishape account" The purchase belongs to a different Decishape account. Sign in with that one, or contact us.
Plans won't load on the paywall Usually a connection problem between your phone and the App Store. Check your network and reopen the app.
Paid, but still seeing the paywall Tap Restore Purchases. Confirm you are on the same Apple Account you bought with.
Entries are missing Almost always the Apple/Google account mix-up — see Signing in. Your entries are also stored on the device, so they are not gone.
The score looks wrong It is computed the same way every day, from the entries on record. Check whether a day is missing or was sketched from memory. If it still looks wrong, write to us with the date.
No reminder arrived Check iOS Settings → Decishape → Notifications, and whether a Hold is active.

Still stuck? Email support@decishape.com with your iOS version and what you were doing when it happened. That is usually enough.

15 · Limits

What Decishape is not

Decishape is not therapy, not a medical device, and not a crisis service. It does not diagnose anything, it cannot tell you what to choose, and it does not predict your future. It makes the direction your days are building visible early enough that you can still change it — that is the whole of what it claims.

If you are struggling right now

Please talk to someone who can actually help. In the United States, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is available 24 hours a day — call or text 988. Elsewhere, the International Association for Suicide Prevention keeps a directory of crisis centres at iasp.info.

A chart of your own days is not a substitute for a person. It was never meant to be one.
